We were so excited and thrilled to be asked to participate in this “Western Fever” inspiration shoot for the issue of Utah Bride and Groom Magazine! For this feature we designed rustic inspired wedding invitations with a fun unique and informal verbiage that we are sure to see become a big trend this year. We also designed matching table number cards and dinner menu cards. Obsessed with this colorful and bold color palette and love how everything turned out!

Lauren & Ben {Real Wedding}

Lauren and Ben have to be one of our favorite clients that we worked with in 2011 and we are excited to share some images from their wedding along with some of the items we designed for them! We enjoyed working with Lauren and her darling parents as we came up with a classic fall tree branch motif that was used on her custom invitations, menus, escort cards, favors and signage. Lauren’s dad is an event planner and her mom is a florist so we had a lot of fun being creative and working together! You can tell by the photos that they did a fantastic job making sure every detail was accounted for.

Lauren and Ben had their celebration at the beautiful Sundance Resort and wanted to bring in fall elements to coordinate with the environment at Sundance. We chose to incorporate cream, brown and copper into their design and paper products. Just love how everything turned out and how the paper details complimented the rest of the event design so nicely to create a lovely rustic wedding!

Rayna & Dominic {Featured Wedding}

Hello all! We are finally getting around to sharing this GORGEOUS wedding by one of our favorite clients from 2011, Rayna and Dominic. We had so much fun design the unique napkin belly band place cards, escort cards and the super darling table numbers that incorporated images of the couples dogs! We are so honored that this wedding was featured in the 2011 issue of  Salt Lake/ Park City Bride and Groom Magazine!

One thing that I LOVE about this wedding is the choice of venue location is so spot on! The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is such a unique and different location and the color palette and style of wedding fit perfectly! It’s so important to take in account the colors and structure of the venue you are considering and make sure your design element compliment and add to the space rather then trying to do a completely opposite look. The cohesiveness of this wedding really created that WOW factor!

Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom Magazine {Editorial Feature}

If you haven’t heard by now that Utah has a new fabulous magazine in town then it’s about time you get to know them! We were honored to be featured in Salt Lake/ Park City Bride & Groom Magazine’s first issue that hit newsstands the first of this month! The lovely Mara with Events by LMG who we absolutely adore working with, asked us to be apart of the Spring Table Top Feature and of course we said {screamed} yes! We worked with Mara to come up with a modern and fresh geometrical invite that helped inspire the rest of the design details. Our invitations were accompanied with beautiful hand calligraphy by Ashantai with Distinctive Inscriptions. Julie with Layers-Cake did an amazing job incorporating the pattern into the cake design!  And how about those incredible hanging tulips constructed by the super talented Audrey with Studio Stems. Seriously what a beautiful feature and major props to Mara for doing an exceptional job conceptualizing this table top design! And last but not least… a big thank you to David Newkirk for capturing it all so beautifully!

Independence Day Inspired Shoot

Design and printed materials can really add a lot of detail and polish to your wedding event. These lovely modern wedding invitations, menus and dessert table labels were designed for an “Independence Day” inspired shoot for the Utah Bride Blog! The first thing that your guests will see of your event is your wedding invitations… so make sure they pack a lot of punch and get your guests buzzing and excited for your event! For this shoot the design of the invites really helped set the inspiration for the rest of the shoot. We went with a navy square pocket booklet with stripped detailing and bold typefaces to create a modern/ slightly vintage suite. We are seeing a lot of this modern and vintage fusion trend in all aspects of wedding design and details. Top everything off with red and white stripped bakers twine from Whisker Graphics and you have a truly unique and eye catching invitation!

Once we had the design foundation of the invitation it was easy to come up with coordinating menu’s for each place setting and the darling dessert table tags and signage. This is actually a surprise to most brides, but adding menus, escort cards, place cards, dessert table tags etc. is actually super affordable and worth every penny! If you are working with a custom designer it’s easy for them to create these additional printed items for you. Since the colors, fonts, designs and patterns have already been established for your invitations they can easily take those elements and come up with coordination stationery that is sure to impress!

Tip of the day: Take a copy of your invites with you to your dinner or reception and have your photographer snag a few shots of you holding them and laid out on a table. You spent so much time and money on them…. so why not have images to remember them forever!

Featured Client {Kayla & Sam}

I just adored working with Kayla & Sam. One of those clients that are truly so sweet and happy together! Jacque Lynn Photography took these stunning images from Kayla & Sam’s wedding and captured the table cards, favor tags and invitations we designed! Kayla and Sam wanted a very classic and elegant look for their invitations so we decided to incorporate shades of tans, golds and creams into the paper and ink. We carried the same design and fonts from the invitations through the table cards and stationery to create a very cohesive and custom look for Kayla and Sam’s gorgeous wedding! Congratulations to you guys!

Ps… you can check out more images from this couples wedding that was featured on the Utah Bride Blog here!

Beckham’s 1st Birthday! {A Pirate Party}

I don’t often write about my own personal life here on the Pink Piggy blog but of course I had to share my son, Beckham’s, first birthday party! To pull off this Nautical Pirate Party I had in my head I called on one of my good friends and event designer extraordinaire, Mara with LMG Events. She is hands down the best planner to work with in Utah! So creative, fun and professional! Working in the wedding and social industry I do a lot of designing and am pretty good at putting together a visual display, but even with my own talents I couldn’t have done this without Mara! If you are planning any type of party from a birthday party to a wedding… leave it up to the professional and don’t stress about it!!

I seriously started planning Beck’s party when he was six months old! I know… my husband still thinks I’m crazy! I’m so completely obsessed with anything nautical, striped and navy right now that I knew I wanted to incorporate those details into the party and also do a different take on the traditional black and red pirate scheme. Mara helped me come up with the idea of doing a “sweets bar” that had color coordinating candies, cupcakes and a pirate birthday cake {designed by Pink Peach Cakes}! I designed all of the custom candy labels and the darling mini candy bar wrappers! We also did a drink bar with darling sparkling juices by Izze and custom water small water bottles with Beck’s Birthday logo on them. And of course I designed his nautical pirate invitations with matching custom skull stamps… A MUST! I also did the cute origami boats with each kids name on the flag as place settings and favors for all of Beck’s friends to take home!

And a very big thank you to the amazing Aubrey with AubPhotography for shooting Beckham’s 1st Birthday pics at Utah Lake and for capturing all the details of the party! I totally recommend hiring a professional photographer to shoot your kids birthday parties! It’s so worth it to not have to worry about taking pictures of everything and being able to just enjoy the day! Thank you so much to all of the fantastic vendors involved!

Utah Bride Blog {Spring Wedding Inspiration}

You have heard it time and time again that your wedding invitations set the mood and excitement for your event, and as much planning that you put into all the details for your wedding should also go into creating custom wedding invitations that reflect your personal style.

The invitations that were designed for this Spring Wedding Inspiration Shoot featured on the Utah Bride Blog incorporated a blossom theme that was also used for the place cards, table number and lemonade sign. This same concept was also used in the conception and design of the wedding cake. Blossoms and floral motifs are a big trend for spring and summer weddings because of the youthful yet sophisticated and timeless feel that can easily be used for a formal dinner setting or a fun backyard picnic. You can add a little extra uniqueness to your stationery by choosing to do rounded corners instead of the traditional squared. This is a subtle design aspect that can create huge affects while being very cost affective. Have fun with the design of your invitations and don’t be afraid to bring a unique theme and color pallet to the table!

Utah Bride Blog did a full week feature of this stunning spring shoot and you can check out more images and expert advice from all the talented vendors involved by visiting these posts: Spring Wedding Inspiration, Fashion & Beauty, Pottery Barn Details & Registry, Cake and Invitation Design, Flower Details.
