Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom Mag {Feature}

I was beyond excited to be asked to design a table top feature for the Summer/Fall issue of Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom Magazine! I partnered with only the best, Studio Stems, to come up with this “Spot On” feature! Our concept was delicate sophisticated dots in a blush pink, white & black color palette. We wanted to show that polka dots can be classy and gorgeous when used in a simplistic design approach. For this feature I designed dinner menus with a delicate dot boarder, place cards, cake pop tags and darling polka dot favor pillows. What a lovely feature and I must say… I sure do love a refined polka dot!

Utah Bride Blog Spring 2012 Shoot {Feature!}

We were so excited to be apart of the Utah Bride Blog’s 2012 Spring Shoot! The concept for this shoot was inspired by the color of the year… Tangerine Tango! If you have been planning your wedding you a probably are already aware of this bright hue, but might be a little afraid of incorporating it into your color palette. We wanted to show how this bright color can be used correctly to create a fun, modern yet elegant wedding!

There was just no better place to capture this look then at the beautiful Entrada in St. George! This venue is beyond breathtaking with the orange rocks and green landscape. Jimmy Bishop with Gideon Photography did an AMAZING job capturing this preppy, flirty and sophisticated look!

This year we are seeing a lot of brides going for a more modern and informal approach to their invitation designs. Playing with fun color combinations, geometric shapes and flirty fonts is a sure way to get your guests excited to attend your event! Don’t be afraid to try different shapes and unique envelope options. One thing that many brides don’t realize is adding the extra paper details at your event is actually pretty easy to do and not as expensive as you might think! Details such as signage, programs, menus, escort cards and place cards make a huge impact in creating a very unique and personalized touch for your guests. This is also a great way to bring in your colors and fun patterns without being to over the top. If you are using a custom graphic designer for your invitations ask them for pricing for these additional items. Since you will have already picked out fonts, colors and designs that you love for your invites it’s very easy for them to carry these details over to the other elements and you will be surprised at how affordable they can be!

If I can give one tip to brides it would be to remember to take one of your invitations with you to your wedding and have your photographer snag a few shots of your invitations so you can have images of them to remember forever… they also make for great detail shots!

Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom Magazine {Feature!}

It’s always an honor to be featured in a magazine and especially one that you adore! I love Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom Magazine so much and am thrilled to be featured in the Winter/Spring 2012 Issue not once but twice! First one of my invitation designs was featured in the “Very Inviting” invitation article about bold colors, geometric patterns and unique shapes and packaging. Love my green + black bold patterned invites with a custom heart shaped die cut insert! So fun and fresh!

I was also honored to be asked to design some custom favors for “The Icing on the Cake” feature with Events by LMG! I wanted to show off some unique and fun ideas when it comes to favors. We went with some gorg patterned pyramid boxes with custom printed monogram tags for the first look and for the second look we went with monogram screen printed canvas bags. These are SO cute in person and make for a seriously lovely favor bag that is a step up from the paper or cello bags. I think custom favors are a must and make for such a great detail at your wedding!

Lauren & Ben {Real Wedding}

Lauren and Ben have to be one of our favorite clients that we worked with in 2011 and we are excited to share some images from their wedding along with some of the items we designed for them! We enjoyed working with Lauren and her darling parents as we came up with a classic fall tree branch motif that was used on her custom invitations, menus, escort cards, favors and signage. Lauren’s dad is an event planner and her mom is a florist so we had a lot of fun being creative and working together! You can tell by the photos that they did a fantastic job making sure every detail was accounted for.

Lauren and Ben had their celebration at the beautiful Sundance Resort and wanted to bring in fall elements to coordinate with the environment at Sundance. We chose to incorporate cream, brown and copper into their design and paper products. Just love how everything turned out and how the paper details complimented the rest of the event design so nicely to create a lovely rustic wedding!

LatterDay Bride Magazine 2012 {Feature!}

We were beyond thrilled to be asked to participate in this glamorous photo shoot that is featured in the 2012 issue of LatterDay Bride Magazine! Rayna & Dominic {Featured Wedding}

Hello all! We are finally getting around to sharing this GORGEOUS wedding by one of our favorite clients from 2011, Rayna and Dominic. We had so much fun design the unique napkin belly band place cards, escort cards and the super darling table numbers that incorporated images of the couples dogs! We are so honored that this wedding was featured in the 2011 issue of  Salt Lake/ Park City Bride and Groom Magazine!

One thing that I LOVE about this wedding is the choice of venue location is so spot on! The Utah Museum of Fine Arts is such a unique and different location and the color palette and style of wedding fit perfectly! It’s so important to take in account the colors and structure of the venue you are considering and make sure your design element compliment and add to the space rather then trying to do a completely opposite look. The cohesiveness of this wedding really created that WOW factor!

Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom Magazine {Editorial Feature}

If you haven’t heard by now that Utah has a new fabulous magazine in town then it’s about time you get to know them! We were honored to be featured in Salt Lake/ Park City Bride & Groom Magazine’s first issue that hit newsstands the first of this month! The lovely Mara with Events by LMG who we absolutely adore working with, asked us to be apart of the Spring Table Top Feature and of course we said {screamed} yes! We worked with Mara to come up with a modern and fresh geometrical invite that helped inspire the rest of the design details. Our invitations were accompanied with beautiful hand calligraphy by Ashantai with Distinctive Inscriptions. Julie with Layers-Cake did an amazing job incorporating the pattern into the cake design!  And how about those incredible hanging tulips constructed by the super talented Audrey with Studio Stems. Seriously what a beautiful feature and major props to Mara for doing an exceptional job conceptualizing this table top design! And last but not least… a big thank you to David Newkirk for capturing it all so beautifully!

Independence Day Inspired Shoot

Design and printed materials can really add a lot of detail and polish to your wedding event. These lovely modern wedding invitations, menus and dessert table labels were designed for an “Independence Day” inspired shoot for the Utah Bride Blog! The first thing that your guests will see of your event is your wedding invitations… so make sure they pack a lot of punch and get your guests buzzing and excited for your event! For this shoot the design of the invites really helped set the inspiration for the rest of the shoot. We went with a navy square pocket booklet with stripped detailing and bold typefaces to create a modern/ slightly vintage suite. We are seeing a lot of this modern and vintage fusion trend in all aspects of wedding design and details. Top everything off with red and white stripped bakers twine from Whisker Graphics and you have a truly unique and eye catching invitation!

Once we had the design foundation of the invitation it was easy to come up with coordinating menu’s for each place setting and the darling dessert table tags and signage. This is actually a surprise to most brides, but adding menus, escort cards, place cards, dessert table tags etc. is actually super affordable and worth every penny! If you are working with a custom designer it’s easy for them to create these additional printed items for you. Since the colors, fonts, designs and patterns have already been established for your invitations they can easily take those elements and come up with coordination stationery that is sure to impress!

Tip of the day: Take a copy of your invites with you to your dinner or reception and have your photographer snag a few shots of you holding them and laid out on a table. You spent so much time and money on them…. so why not have images to remember them forever!
